Why live music?Pre-recorded music is an excellent option for listening in the car, at the gym, and almost anywhere else… almost. On the day of your wedding, when you’re looking to create a lifetime of memories with your closest friends and family, there is no substitution for the excitement and intensity of live music. The thunderous energy and spontaneity of Casual Bowtie is unparalleled by pre-recorded music, but the real benefit you get from booking CB is the interaction and contagious high spirits that take your day from a fun party to an event you and your guests will be talking about for the rest of your lives… there is no way to squeeze that epic entertainment out of an iPod. We're sure Apple is working on it though.
Do you travel outside of Seattle? We do – and we have. If your venue is more than 30 miles from Seattle / requires ferry travel, we will charge for travel reimbursement.
How long do you typically play?We usually play over the course of 3-4 hours with two 15-20 minute breaks. Of course we are flexible based on your needs.
What happens during a break? We will play music during our breaks (or at any other time) according to your song selection and schedule - if you have a custom playlist for breaks, we’ll play that too!
What do you wear?Ooh thanks for asking! We wear what the occasion calls for – full formal to beach casual and everything between. Of course, we’ll always be wearing bowties – most couples opt to have us wear bowties that match the bridal party colors.
Can we hear you before we book you?Yes please of course! Send us an email and we’ll get you to one of our rehearsals. At this point, we’re so busy playing private events that it’s rare that we have time to play a public performance.
What happens after we book you?We are here to help. We have collectively played, helped organize, and officiated hundreds of weddings – we know what works and what doesn’t. Please feel free to bounce any questions or idea you have off of us - about anything wedding related, and we’ll always give our honest opinion.
Do you charge for set up / tear down time?Heck to the no. That’s part of our services. There's no nickel-and-diming or unexpected extra bill line items.
Will you learn a new song just for us?We will! If you book with us 4 months before your wedding date, we’ll learn 2 songs – two months before and we’ll learn 1.
Can my dad/sister/aunt sing/drum/play guitar with the band? Some of the most special moments are made this way – but it’s important for us to rehearse with your dad/sister/aunt before the wedding – so yes as long as it’s not a last-minute, day-of-the-wedding decision. We want the night to be memorable for all the right reasons ☺
Will you play the Rains of Castemere?Sure… but we’re not insured for any Lannister/Frey shenanigans.
Can you play during the ceremony? We can absolutely play piano / organ or acoustic guitar music for the ceremony.
Will you emcee the event? We always plan to. We will coordinate with your planners to make sure everything is running smoothly.
Can you provide a mic & speakers for our use?We can! Let’s chat about details.
